What if someone other than a judge decides to deliver justice?
A radio programme is interrupted by a phone call from a mysterious man who introduces himself as the Judge. At the same time, a live internet stream shows a man in an executioner's hood torturing a close associate of the authorities. Before executing him, the man reveals all the sins and misdeeds of his victim.
Law enforcement agencies are put on high alert. Police find the victim's body at a former orphanage run by an order of nuns, the Hieronymus sisters. Inspector Igor Brudny is called to the scene. A man he never wanted to meet again makes him an offer he cannot refuse.
Brudny and Zawadzka have to navigate the completely alien world of politics, corruption and the intelligence services. What the Judge does next effectively paralysing the whole country, and an inflamed populous take to the streets. In all the chaos, once again tracking down a psychopathic murderer, Brudny for the first time is not sure if he's on the right side.
